Wednesday, January 19th, 2011- New daisy species found on the mountains of Ravenna by Per Ola, a professor from Stockholm university. They will send through the new name shortly
- Welcome Chicken little to the family – a very tame chicken who loves being cuddled
- Congratulations to the 2 egyptian geese breeding on the house dam, for having 5 new little ones
- 3 baby swallows doing well in an open nest just outside reception
- We will be planting 22 new trees in and around Ravenna (Wild plum, white beach, cape ash, red ash & white stinkwood)
- One year anniversary of the fire 18 Jan 2009, Ravenna came close to burning down. Luckily 3 helicopters from Cape Town came to our Rescue

- Fires stop 7km from Ravenna. Thinking of all the farmers who’s land was damaged by the fire this year
- Busy picking the last of the fruit, fairtime peaches – delicious
- Welcome to Mossie, Covey and Donald our 3 new Moscovey Ducks who are our the new kids on the block. They are enjoying the house dam and slowly getting used to the dogs
- Scoobie Doo passed away 20 september 2011. We will miss you Scoobie, we love you!
- Our Blue Cranes are very vocal this year, coming closer and closer to the main house. Congrats to them with their new chicks
- The swallows are flying in and out of the breakfast room on daily basis, as their nest is just outside the breakfast room sliding door
- Jan 2012, the Eqyptian Geese have 7 new babies, now teenagers and are swimming on the “huis dam” every evening
- Jan 2012, our Blue cranes have had 1 new addition to their family. Love it!
